VOLUNTEER

What is LEARN?

The Learning Exchange and Action Research Network (LEARN) encompasses JJVS Volunteer and Internship opportunities. Our programs offer an opportunity to learn about Jagran Jan Vikas Samiti’s work to support tribal communities, to participate in our field work throughout rural Rajasthan, to spearhead projects to help our communities, to immerse in and learn about local culture and knowledge systems.

Global Community Health Exchange

The Global Community Health Exchange allows volunteers with healthcare experience to conduct health camps to treat tribal community members in rural villages as well as learn from our local traditional healers (Gunis). We’ve hosted chiropractors, naturopaths, and health professionals skilled in manual techniques such as myotherapy and bowen therapy. We are open to health professionals and health students from all fields. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a knowledge exchange with our traditional healers and Ayurvedic doctors. We’ve hosted more than blank volunteers since the beggining of the program in blank.

Summer School Program

The Summer School Program is a 4 week program that aims to instill future leaders with an understanding of the circumstances of rural India. A team of 4 to 5 students from IIM Udaipur spend time in rural tribal villages to identify the gaps in existing responses to community needs. Based on this, teams prepare a detailed project proposal including a cost-benefit analysis, budget, implementation plan and a needs appraisal.
